J MAK THA MONSTER

Take the verbal force of Earl Simmons, the consciousness of Nasir Jones, the outspokenness of Tupac Shakur, mixed with the fearlessness of Marshal Mathers, and what do you get? A dynamic, uniquely-structured, bilingual music product by the name of J MAK “Tha Monster”. Born to a rice farmer and a stay-at-home mother of six, life was far from silver-spooned for the household that he was raised in. Facing common difficulties of poverty, he needed an outlet to escape the typical low expectations of a ghetto-raised child. That outlet was discovered in the universal language of music.

 

Writing his very first full-length song at age 13 only heightened his interest in music, so that by the time he reached high school, he was given the MC name J MAK. In fact, the four letters represent a resounding phrase that plays a motivational role in his career: Just Make A Killing. Commonly used in the southern United States, its interpretation means to give your best in all that you do with the goal of achieving as much success as possible.

 

After gaining much recognition throughout Texas by way of unique stand-out performances of his music, features from artists such as Snow Tha Product and Byron Bank, and supporting numerous fellow up-and-coming artists, J MAK is now set to expose the world to his brand of J.M.A.K. Music. After the release of his 1st lead single “Monster” in 2011 (Produced by Blood-N-Bone), it was very fitting for fans and followers to begin labeling him J MAK “Tha Monster”. Also, from the influence of his Latino culture since childhood, is the musical alter-ego “El Ritmo Negro” (The Black Rhythm or The Black Beat). This Reggaetonero (Reggaeton music artist) is known for his sarcastic, yet reality-based form of lyrics and wordplay that still cater to the positives of life and having a good time, Latino style. NEW upcoming singles from J MAK include “Man In My City" (available on iTunes), "You Know What It Is" (for the ladies), "Go On" (a real-life story-telling record), & the very controversial "F**k Houston". With J.M.A.K. Music, the aim is not to change the music industry, but to make a lasting mark and difference in it. And most definitely, to “just make a killing”.
